What are straight line wipers?
The Decca straight line wiper is a marine windshield wiper system specially designed for use on ships. They must be able to withstand harsh marine environments such as salty water and wind. Therefore they are built with only high quality materials such as corrosion resistant anodized aluminum, stainless steel and hardened polyamide.
The straight line wiper is the most effective in its ability to clean a square or rectangular space. In the majority of cases, a straight-line wiper would mount above or below a window.
The wiper arms for the straight line wiper are available in 2 models:
- Blades from 400mm up to 800mm
- Blades form 900mm all the way up to 1200mm
After the easy installation of the Decca wiper it is easy to use because of the control system. Based on variables such as the number of wiper units, wiper groups and water spray zones, the control system is individually adapted to meet the requirements for each vessel. The basic components of a straight line wiper system
The Decca straight line wiper system had the following basic components:
Engine
The standard motor is 220V DC, ranging from 110W to 180W
Wiper carriage
The wiper carriage moves from side to side and carries the wiper arm
Wiper arm
The straight line wiper arm detaches with tree screws. It is adjusted and adapted to the height of the window
Driving belt
Al wipers have been tested before the driving belt is retightened to specified tension
Wiper cover
The motor cover is attached to the wiper house with stainless bolts
Unique cable connector
The waterproof cable connection system makes installation and maintenance easy
Water spray system (optional)
The Decca straight line wiper comes with an optional water spray system
Control system
The control system is individually adapted to meet the relevant requirements
